Just would like to give a special shout out to Tammi whose birthday is today.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! :)

For whatever reason, ever since I have started watching Arrested Development I’ve started to notice that my life is somewhat of a comedy. These last two days have added to that theory quite well.

Yesterday I woke up knowing the day would suck. As with all holidays I would either get the choice of being with family or staying home alone. I had my mind on staying home alone for most of the day while I split my time playing Mass Effect or watching Arrested Development. Since I was already home alone I got a feel for what the rest of my day would be like. After a conversation with Tammi I decided to drag my ass over (this being after an hour long nap). I cleaned myself up and headed over. My mom, dad, grandmother, and brother were already settled and enjoying the spirit of Christmas. I got in and threw my shoes off. My mom commented about me being rude or something but I just continued on and laid back on a couch in a dark room (ironic, isn’t it?) and whipped out the laptop. Threw in AD and watched it for quite a bit. Then my dad came looking for me to tell me it was dinner time. I quickly pick myself up and head it so I could be the first out. I gathered the food that I wanted and at the same time pissed off my mom and made her comment about how I am always grumpy during the holidays (you don’t say). After ravaging the plate I headed back to continue watching. Then it was dessert. I ended up with apple and key lime pies with vanilla ice cream. Post pie time some family friends came and said hi. Minutes later I decided to head home. I told me mom and she said fine. Then my dad spoke up about I was going home because I was being anti-social. Then someone commented asking me if I was tired. My dad spoke again and said that I was going to go home and talk to Ashlee all night long. Ugh. Ok, I know a girl, thanks dad. Anyway I headed home and talked to Ashlee until about 10:30pm when she went to bed as well as myself.

I woke up at about 7am and decided to go to Best Buy to pick up Arrested Development season 3 since I got a Best Buy gift card for the same price as the DVD. I headed to my parents room and told my mom I was going and she told me “whatever” in that half-asleep tone. When I got there I had about fifteen minutes until it would open so I waited in the car listening to my iPod. While waiting a glanced at my side mirrors to notice a familiar blonde. Was it? Could it be? No way. Yes, it was indeed “B,” dressed in Best Buy work attire. She also carried the familiar Beatles handbag. I did a double take look at the mirror just to be sure. When the store opened I quickly scooped up the DVD and looked around curious as to where “B” was stationed on this day after Christmas shopping day. As I walked over towards customer service I noticed the rope for the lines that were expected (I was also have blinded by the sun as their front windows face south, morons). Then I saw the hair again. The poor thing. She was working the customer service line. Being the sly son of a bitch I am I walked around trying to get a glance just for the hell of it, but alas, none such happened. I gave up my perilous adventure and checked out. I went back home and continued my ME/AD combo of doom. Around noon Tammi and Carter arrived as they were taking me out to lunch for my *read below*. I invited Andrew along since he had yet to meet them in person. I drove us all down to the Mongolian BBQ in Fairfield and wrapped up a comedic journey with all sorts of driving fun. Lunch was full of jokes and little giggles like usual Tammi/Carter meals. We also messaged Ashlee during the time. After lunch we headed back and after dropping off Andrew the three of us talked before they headed home. Then it was back to the same routine. At about 6pm we again went to the borrowed friend’s house to have dinner. Now I’m back home with the Bako crew on webcam.

Oh yeah, I’m older today. Whoo.

Today was the easy day of finals. I woke up at the usual time but stayed in bed until about 9am or so. Then I messed around until it was time to head out. I was leaving early to be able to catch others who had the teacher appointment earlier than mine. I get to the parking lot of the main campus and get a call from Ashlee. We talk for a little bit as I walk over to the building where my teacher’s office was. After I get done talking to Ashlee I head in and see some of the others waiting outside her door. I make brief conversation and then see one of the people from the class walk out. The teacher sees me and remarks that I am early so she hands me a survey to do. She ends up deciding to see me earlier than my time because some people were late. I get in and see tells me that I passed the English exam (with the minimum score I might add) and the class with a solid B. She did note, however, that I am capable of an A if I put more work in. No shit? Anyway, she asks for some suggestions for next semesters class and I give her the idea of music as the topic. She told me that she had that as one of the original plans for out class but we never got around to it so she might try it next semester. I headed out of her office after the farewell and noticed “B” waiting outside the door. I leaned back on one of the walls looking over the sheets that the teacher gave me while “B” did the survey with another girl from the class. A few minutes later (and no comments whatsoever) the other girl spoke aloud one of the questions from the survey and then she was wondering what to write. I started to walk out the door when I said “Keep it simple.” She turns and asked if I passed the test and I acknowledged. She asked about the score and I said that it was an 8 (the lowest possible passing score). She said that it was good and I quickly said something about aiming for the minimum and hitting it. Oh my witty banter. It got a look from “B” as I walked out and away. Will I see her in the future? Maybe. I headed back to my car and headed home to wait for the other final of the day.

Between the time I got home and headed out again I dicked around online and attempted to play some Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts. I was doing fine until it magically crashed on me, so I went back to my online crap.

At about 2:30pm I headed down again for the counsel final. I got there early and talked with others in the class. Once it was time the teacher gave us his farewell speech and handed out the final. All we had to do was write an essay reflecting on the past semester. Piece of cake. I finished it up within an hour and turned it in. He told me good luck in whatever I end up doing. Then it was back home.

I get home to a seemingly empty house, except for my brother. Again I do stuff online and then head downstairs for the Call of Duty 4 where I ran into some teamkillers and other assholes. I leveled up to 41 which was nice. Then I did some more online stuff until Ashlee called and we talked. During the call my brother comes to me and asks me if I would take him over to one of the local high schools (not the one he nor I went/go to). I ask him why and he said that his friend is watching some concert there. Then I ask if he talked to mom about it and he said no, so I told him to call her. He comes back a few minutes later and tells me she said it was okay. I get off the phone with Ashlee and take him over. When I get back I eat some chicken noodle soup for dinner and watch Gangland on the History Channel. Halfway through the show my mom gets home and I ask her about my brother and if she said it was okay. She told me that she never got a call from him so I told her that he lied to me. She said it was okay though because a few nights ago I lied to her (although this was part of that subplot previously mentioned). So she gets all grumpy with me even though mine was minor. Then I ask her if she knows how much money I am getting for Christmas and my birthday. She asks why and I tell her that she already knew. Then she remembers it (sort of) and starts going on a rant about how the trip (I have plans to head down to Bakersfield to visit Tammi, Ashlee, and Carter for New Year’s) is dangerous and that I have never met them in person. I respond by sayng that I’ve known them for a while now and that we talk every night and even on web cam. She gets grumpier and says “I’ll take to your father.” She’s complaining for stupid reasons. She told me that the trip is too expensive but I am paying for it with the money from Christmas and my birthday. Also, I am turning 19 in less than two weeks and they still act as if I am not an adult yet. It is bullshit. I am old enough to manage most of my life without having people watch over me. I’m hoping that I can go down there, but this is not helping the plans. Tammi and myself are figuring out how to convince my parents if it comes to that point.

This weekend I will be working on some economics crap including a lengthy assignment where I have to find certain parts of economics in news articles and then write about it. I also need to finish up the homework for the final on Monday. As for the math final, I feel fine about it. And I am glad that Monday is the last day for me. I need the good break to come.

Until I can scratch another years of my lifespan.

I came out of the maze of tubes and found myself in another mesh chamber. Down the path was a collection of padded obstacles. Charging at full speed through the mindless mass led me to an intersection of meshed paths. The foot steps of the one I was chasing came from the right. My sense locked on the sound and I continued my pursuit. The path was leading me through chamber after chamber until I saw him. There he was, directly in front of me, on the other side of the brightly colored meshed room. There was only one problem. In the middle of this forbidding chamber was a trench of great proportions. The target gave me a smirk as if I would never catch him. The situation constructed itself in my mind. “I can do this” repeated itself as I launched myself towards the void in the floor. As my right foot reached the edge, my mind minded me to push off and propel myself across the apparent pit. Just then it all came apart. The launching foot slipped off the edge. Gravity took me down as I fell into the trap. A thunderous clank rattled my ears as a chain reaction disrupted my pain receptors. Gravity wasn’t finished with me just yet. The ground came upon me as if I fell from the sky. The impact was meager compared to the brutal, bone rattling, first strike. Shaken, I picked up my bruised ego and carried on with the chase. As I exited the maze of pain, I noticed my runner waiting. His eyes glazed as if he was a deer in a car’s headlights. Then a glisten, his face transformed. A burst of tears accompanied with a scream that sent everyone into a questioning mode. The mob of parents and their kin rushed over. My mom emerges from the crowd. She looked at me and glazed over just like my escapee. Then a cold feeling gathered on the back of my neck. I motioned my hand to the area in question. It was liquid. Confused I quickly pull my hand forward. The crimson liquid was all over my hand. My mind computed this information and an outburst of shock erupted. I was rushed out of the so called “fun zone.” Hours later the daze and confusion wore off. I was home after a day that started with a birthday party and ended with cracking my head open. One thing stuck out from that experience. Before the discovery of blood when I got out of that dreaded maze, I noticed a sign that said, “NO RUNNING!” Oops.
